River and Visitors

We love living next to the Snake and Columbia River.  Kyle has a thing with  jet skis.  Just drive by our house and you'll know what I mean.  Some friends took us out on the Snake River this year with their boat so that's where some of these pictures came from.  We took the jet skis out once on the Snake and then a few times on the Columbia.  I much prefer the Snake River because it's calmer, less crowded, and much warmer.  For a few weeks Kyle and some friends would get up at 5:15 and take their stand up jet skis out before work.  Not the thing for me, but they loved it.
Kyle's Mom and Sister and her family came to visit us last week for Labor Day and we had the best time.  It was also Grammy's birthday, so were celebrated with a day at the river and ice cream cake.  I love getting together as a big group, but it's nice to have individual time with siblings and cousins.  Michael and Preston love their Mahuika cousins, and we're glad we live close enough where we can visit each other.

This picture is hilarious to me.

Date Night

Some of our good friends are on a mission and they've asked Kyle to take care of their classic cars while they are gone.  He has to drive them around every so often to keep them in running condition.  I'm not complaining!

Safety First

Michael was in the garage a couple of weeks ago with Kyle and this is what I came out to see. Looks like he's concerned about protecting everything but his feet.

Swim Boys

This picture was taken one day after my parents had shocked their pool.  Preston loves smiling big and having his eyes wide open while under the water, so this was the result from the chlorine.  He even had a rash all over his face.  It was pretty crazy how swollen his lips, eyes and whole face got.
Preppy is crazy in the pool.  He loves to jump in and I have to keep my eye on him at all times.  He can even swim now, which is hilarious to see.  He keeps his eyes open and smiles the entire time he's under water.  I'm hoping he takes after his cousin Blake in the swimming department!  We are so lucky to have a pool to swim in, and let me tell you, I took full advantage of it this summer with the  boys.  It will be a sad day if we don't have Nana and Papa's pool to swim in anymore.  It was my sanity this summer!  I just had to forget about the price of gas to drive out there so much.

Grange Reunion

We headed to the beautiful Columbia River Gorge for Kyle's Mom's family reunion.  We had a nice time getting to know her extended family.  I was definitely exhausted by the time it was over because the place was not kid friendly and I felt like I was checking on my kids who were running wild the entire time (no lock on the pool gate, right next to a cliff, and lots of trees to lose your children in).  The location was seriously beautiful and breathtaking, and I enjoyed my morning run along the Scenic Highway.  If you ever have a chance to go up to Corbett, OR and see the views, then do it!

Clara's 5k

I was able to run in Clara's 5k despite being pregnant.  I am so glad I started running for the 5k because I have been able to run 3 miles/3 times a week up until today when my doctor ordered me to stop because I have Polyhydramnios.  There was a great turnout for the 5k, and I finished in 27 minutes.  I think I could even run it faster now that I've been running for a long time.  That's besides the point.  It was a great day, and I'm so grateful for my sis-in-law and her family for coming into town for it, and everyone else that joined in to support Clara!

Priest Lake (July 2011)

Proof that I actually went on vacation.  (one pic of me on my camera, taken the moment we drove out of town.)
