Two Peas In A Pod

My BFF Candice and I were often called "two peas in a pod," so when we had to come up with a costume for work one year, I knew just what we were going to be. Isn't this the best costume? Do you think I could get Kyle to relive this costume with me? Yeah, I don't either.
This picture makes me miss my curly hair. I know you're thinking, what? Your hair is curly. It's not nearly as curly as it used to be :( At this rate, by the time I get done having kids, my hair will be stick straight.

You Can Vote However You Like

My girl Steph posted this link on her blog...it's a must watch. After watching it, I really want to enroll Michael in the Ron Clark Academy.

**Miraculously the excessive vommitting, terrible diapers and diaper rash, all stopped the very second Kyle came home, and I'm not even kidding. Completely stopped. So, last night Kyle gave the FHE lesson on crying wolf.

Okay, I'm kidding he did NOT, but he probably felt like it.

Curl up and enjoy this blog

My good friend Miggy, just introduced me to the best blog I've ever read. You can find it here. I can SO relate to what this girl is going through. Been there done that. Make sure to read from the beginning of her blog, and you also have to read the sidebar. My heart aches for this girl. I wish there were pictures attached, but maybe that's why it's so good...no prejudices based on looks.

P.S. Michael has been throwing up this week. He's not sick, just throwing up at random times....all over the place. I'm keeping his solid intake to a minimum because of it, and he's still on a bottle. It's like he'll make a small gag noise, and then the puking ensues. Sorry Mom and Dad for the mess on your carpet today....thank goodness for wet/dry vacs (I use mine all the time).

Anyone have any ideas what this could be from? It's completely out of the blue...started on Monday. Could it be teething?

Help Me Now

Dear Kyle,
You are a lucky boy that your flight is already booked today from Raleigh to Salt Lake because if it wasn't, I'd say skip the football game tomorrow, and get your bum home TODAY. Why? Because your teething son had 8 poopy diapers yesterday (it's been the average the past week and half, and no I'm not exaggerating), he woke up 4 times last night, then at 4:10 am he woke up to a blow out which happened to be all the way to both feet...poor kid. He wasn't very happy, but as soon as I stuck him in the bathtub he forgot about his woes (I did not). Then this morning he woke up to yet another one. Guess what I woke up to? Impetigo on my face. At 4:10 am I thought it was a cold sore so I popped some Valtrex, but no, no no, it's quickly playing connect the dots from my lip to my NOSE. Help me now. Did I mention I've had a nasty cold with an even nastier cough all week? The impetigo makes it lovely to blow my nose. You, my love, will not be greeted with a kiss at the airport on Sunday, but I will make sure to pass off the diaper duties for a couple of hours. Your son is still as happy as ever, your wife, not so much. Have fun at the game!
Love,
Your Complaining Wife

Party Central

So I went to all the effort to make a cupcake that Michael could eat, and the little stinker didn't want to have anything to do with it. He made a face like I was feeding him a lemon! He's never had anything sweet except for fruit, so I think it threw him for a loop.
Wow, I've done one too many blog posts lately. I'm wearing myself out. Trust me, I'll be taking a hiatus here shortly (one more tomorrow for Big Chief's Birthday, then I'm done for a while!)

Today

Today in numbers:
*3 hours at the Doctor's Office
*3 immunizations
*102 temperature
*2 times being thrown up on
*6 Poopy diapers
*4 outfit changes
*4 baths and 2 showers
*4 loads of laundry...many more to follow
*1 self diagnosis that I'm getting a cold

Pictures to show Dad what he's missing out on while he's in North Carolina. Let's just say it wasn't all contained to the two of us.....DISGUSTING!

My Baby's 1!

I cannot believe it's been a year. Last night I had a good cry about it too. Probably because it was midnight and I was tired. I always said I wasn't going to be one of those moms who cried when her kids got older, or when they went to school, but I am, ONE OF THOSE MOMS.
My sister Candace, did this for her son when he turned 1. Here's Michael's first year in pictures....

Hiking Badger

I've wanted to hike Badger Mountain (large hill) since we moved here, so for FHE this week, that was on the agenda. I must say, for hiking (which I'm not a fan of), it's pleasant and the view from the top is beautiful. After living in Utah (land of huge mountains and canyons), I have to remember that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Sagebrush and tumbleweeds isn't exactly where it's at for me, but I do love the river and farmlands this area has to offer. Michael loved it on the way up, but on the way down, it was windy and he was cold. I was trying to make him laugh and was running ahead of them, and I biffed it hard! It worked, he started laughing again.
Right now Michael is teething, big time. He has terrible, terrible diaper rash. Every time I change his diaper it's poopy, and this had gone on for 4 days now. I've tried blow drying his bum, every cream out there, and it's still not helping. He's still his happy little self most of the time. Just not at night. The other night he woke up crying so hard. We could not get him to calm down. Usually I'll give him a bottle, and he'll go back to sleep. Not that night, he would have nothing to do with medicine, a bottle, even going outside! Kyle gave him a Priesthood blessing, and he screamed the whole way through, pushing off of us, and everything. As soon as Kyle said AMEN, Michael literally did a few whimpers, closed his eyes and went to sleep. Wow, what a testimony builder. I've never experienced anything like that before.

West Side Cuzzies

Look who learned to stick out his tongue, and he wouldn't stop doing it!My sis-in-law got us all into OMSI...the kids and Michael loved it! Have you seen their real fetus display? Craziest thing I think I've ever seen, but also very interesting. Grammy took everyone to eat at Sparky's Pizza. If you're in Portland, it's a must, and also extremely cheap.
We headed to Vancouver last weekend (I'm behind), and as you can see from the pictures, Michael's cuzzies (that's how they say it in New Zealand), have lots of love to shower on him. Needless to say, I now know after looking at these pictures why he doesn't want to be held. He gets his fair share when we go over there.

11 Month Stats

Michael has been walking for a week and half now, and he's a pro. It is so nice to have him walking after 6 months of crawling, he loves it too! He hated being held before, but now he hates it even more. The kid just wants to do his own thing.

Michael's 11 Month Stats
  • Walking/Running
  • Plays Peek-A-Boo by putting his hands on top of his head
  • Knows how to do motions for "The Wheels on the Bus"
  • Blows kisses
  • When we say one, he puts up one finger (I've been working to perfect this for his birthday)
  • Teething... enough said!
  • Thinks biting is a sign of affection
  • He smiles at everyone, and as always will go to anyone
  • Weighs 20 pounds

Gettin' Down on the Farm

Aren't these cute? My sister Natasha, who's also pregnant with her FIFTH (holy smokes!), made this invite for Michael's birthday party. Michael LOVES animals and being outside, so we'll head to the Harvest Festival at the Country Mercantile where they have a petting zoo, corn maze, tractor ride, and pumpkin patch. We'll also be celebrating Kyle's birthday because he'll be in North Carolina for training on his 28th birthday. How much does that stink?!

**If anyone has any dairy free cake recipes, please, please, please send them my way. I've never made one before, and I'm a little bit nervous. Actually I don't think Michael will be that picky. I'm making one cake for him, and one for everyone else.**
