This, That and the Other

As I was getting ready to can grape juice yesterday, I teased Kyle and told him that I was going to have to step on the grapes in the box. He looked at me, and said that's gross, can't you just use your hands. (and he says I'm gullible!) He justified himself by saying he'd seen it on the movies.

Our landlady called the pest man to come fix our ant problem. He came today stayed for over an hour and a half!!!! He talked the entire time. I kept giving him opportunities to leave, but he wasn't noticing. He did however, notice I was making bread and kept commenting on how he hasn't had homemade bread in awhile. Once it was done, I offered him some, and he said, well I wasn't going to say anything, but that's why I've taken so long. Jeesh! He then stayed for another half hour.

Yesterday I had to wake Michael up at 11 am because I figured 15 hours of sleep was long enough. He still took a 2.5 hour nap. Today he got woke up at 10 am and took a long nap. Lazy boy! I'm attributing it to a growth spurt, and I'm not complaining.

Michael found Kyle's "empty" protein shake cup on the ground yesterday, and the trace that was left in there was enough to produce a rash all over him. He didn't even drink it, he just touched his skin. I hate to think what would happen if he actually ate dairy.

I almost forgot...Michael has started to walk. He's not fulltime yet, but pretty dang close. Oh yeah, and he loves to bite me all day long. He thinks it's so great. Me, not so great.

Sunday

*Church is getting more and more difficult with our wiggle worm. I was literally sweating today after the first hour. It's a serious workout trying to wrangle Michael. He wore himself out because he took a 3.5 hour nap after church.

*I taught my first lesson in Young Women's today. There were only two girls there (4 leaders), I think there's supposed to be more like 10. Wonder if they found out I'd be teaching. The first thing I saw down the hall when class was over was my naked child. What?! Kyle claimed he had a blowout. I would have classified it as a spill-out. We went to church with him fully clothed, by the time we left...not so much. I will make sure to pack an extra outfit next time (I usually do!)

*Tonight Kyle took us for a drive up to the windmill farms in the hills. It was pretty up there, but I just kept thinking, what a waste of our tax dollars.
As you can tell, Michael thoroughly enjoyed the windmills, or maybe just pulling on my hair. *We just had family counsel, and we're recommitting ourselves to do better in more then one area. I always need encouragement and assistance to keep going. Last night's Relief Society broadcast was amazing, and I once again realized I have MUCH to improve on, but also much to be grateful for. The one thing I love about the leaders of our church is that they motivate by being positive.

This is how I found Michael on Friday after I gave him two apples slices to gnaw on......

As Good As It Gets

Our trip to Utah, was as good as it gets. I loved every minute of it. We missed Kyle while he was in North Carolina, and were happy to see him at the airport. I love autumn in Utah. The colors started changing on the mountains while we were there. I kept saying how much I missed living in Utah. Not sure if I miss my memories in Utah, or if I miss Utah. Maybe a little bit of both.
Sorry about the "helmet" head picture Bryce. I couldn't resist Michael's face!We went to the park everyday, and the kids loved it. Waiting at Brick Oven. Holy Smokes, that pizza is better then I remember it. Kyle has a problem. If Michael is wearing shoes, socks, or pants, he promptly removes them and strips him down to just his shirt. No, Amber did NOT get married this past week. This was three years ago, but I forgot to take a picture of us three at lunch (probably because I was trying to wrangle Michael), and this was the only one I had. I worked with these girls for three years, and really miss seeing them often. Lots, and lots of memories. We had a great time catching up. Good luck with that baby Kaisa!Best line of the night from Azucar: "Not everyone can be famous in Pasco," referring to her new found blog fame. I love Cafe Rio and Alisha. Mom and Dad were in town for a BYU Alumni training, so they stopped by to say hi. Patrick raised his prices on me, so I made him straighten it. I'm happy with the results. Carter wanted Michael to try on his Halloween costume, looks like I need to get our own Blue Monster costume. This was Michael's signature stance, all week.Classic Carter...

Dumpster Diving

The funniest/scariest thing happened today. So, we're staying with my sister, and she has the exact same high chair that we have at home. It has a five point harness, and is NOT easy to get out of. Actually, I would say, it's impossible. I had just put Michael in the high chair with some Cheerios, and Candace had just put Carter in timeout in the kitchen. I decided to leave the kitchen, as to not upset the three year old anymore who was in timeout across the dining area. Candace and I were looking at some pictures, when I decided to go check on Michael because he was being very quiet. What I found was hilarious, shocking, and scary all at the same time. He was standing up in her kitchen garbage can! What?! I about died. He had somehow wrangled himself free from the high chair harness, and managed to get himself in the garbage can which was next to the high chair, standing up. Not to mention her high chair has rollers and rolls all over the place, and it wasn't locked into place. I CANNOT believe he didn't end up head first on the tile. My sister said I should have taken a picture. I think I was too shocked to take a picture.

He's still not walking....AAHHH!

I chopped my hair. BIG TIME. It's straight right now, and I'm actually very nervous to get it wet tomorrow. If it's short now, it will be really short tomorrow. I always take two weeks to get used to my hair cuts, so we'll see.

We are loving our time in Utah. Couldn't ask for a better trip to see friends and family.

Can't Wait

We had a great time in Seattle with the family. We had to find a different babysitter at the last minute as in 6 hours before we left. Kyle's cousin is a saint and agreed to take Michael for the night. She said he was an angel, and didn't cry or fuss once. That's my boy! I don't think he knew I left. I on the other hand, shed a tear, and couldn't wait to get back.
I CANNOT wait to leave tomorrow. I can't believe I'll be in Utah with absolutely nothing to do, but visit friends and family, go to a couple BYU football games and eat at my favorite restaurants. I wonder if I'll sleep tonight. The only thing that makes me not excited is my sister called to let me know they caught two mice at their house today, and I'll be sleeping on a mat on the floor. I wonder if I'll sleep next week. I might just crawl in the pack n' play with Michael.

Michael is starting to walk. He's taken two steps, and I'm afraid he'll start walking while Kyle is in North Carolina. The past two weeks he's started to grind his teeth. Nothing drives me more nuts. I think he knows it too.
We can't get him to sit still for anything. So in order to clip his nails, we have to do it while he's asleep.
This might be my favorite picture of him. I feel like he's saying. "Mom, leave me alone, I just woke up and I'm trying to watch the Today Show." Don't let him fool you. Two seconds later, he was up and at 'em.
This is a classic Michael face. Actually this is what he looks like when he's about to bite me.

Conversations

"Do you think you'll be the boss of me in Heaven?"
*Kyle randomly asked me this as we lay in bed last night. My answer: Yes!* (we both had a good laugh)

"Babe, do you know what I love about you? You've got body."
*Kyle referring to my bed head after seeing me look like this (see below). That's what happens when I go to sleep with wet hair and no product*

Did I really just post this picture on the world wide web?
