Life Update

We're STILL looking for a job, so please keep your eyes and ears open. We've been busy calling, emailing and trying to network with people we know, kind of know, don't know, and would like to know. I've always said looking for a job is a full time job in and of itself, and this search is proving me right. We are applying for jobs around the country, but as you know times are tough and companies are scaling back. I hate wondering where my family will be in the next month, and what we will be doing. I really want to have this new baby here, but it's not looking good, then again, it's not looking good anywhere else either. I'm trying to have faith. It's hard.

I'm now 18 plus weeks, and still not showing or gaining weight, it's kind of weird but I'm not complaining! I think I'll pop out this week, actually last time it happened in one day. If I lay down flat on my back you can most definitely see my baby bump. The baby is kicking all the time now. Kyle got to feel the baby move this week, which is my favorite part of being pregnant. It's still just as fun as the first time around. In a week and half and we get to find out what we're having. Crazy!

I need to write some things down about Michael before they slip from my mind.

• He loves to bow his head and fold his arms for prayers and randomly comes up to me throughout the day and does it. Melts my heart every time. It's amazing to me what babies pick up on from observing (even when they are constantly on the go).
• He is OBSESSED with phones, and he picks up everything and anything and puts it to his ear and says, "hi."
• He loves to throw everything, and the kid has always had a strong arm. He throws, pans, glass pitchers, balls, clothes, shoes, his food, drink...you name it, he'll throw it. Drives me nuts.
• Still takes two naps a day and sleeps 13 hours at night. Bless his little heart.
• Has all the sudden decided he doesn't want to talk anymore. He used to say all sorts of words, but now has decided he's above speaking.
• If a door isn't shut all the way (I make sure to keep them shut), he's pushing it open, and creating a disaster wherever he goes.
• Still can't keep out of the kitchen cupboards (we can't baby proof ours because we're renting)
• He is constantly climbing on top of the couch, coffee table and table if the chairs aren't pushed in. He crashes all the time, but pops right back up.
• Still puts things in his mouth....I thought this stage would have ended long ago.

I left my camera at my aunt's house last week, so I don't have any photos to post.

Pneumonia

Talk about a nightmare that feels like it won't end. Poor Michael has pneumonia. We couldn't get his fever to break for 24 straight hours on Sunday. It got up over 105 multiple times. Sunday night he threw up in his crib, then a couple of hours later he threw up on Kyle....in our bed at 5 am. He got two baths between 2 and 5 am. Since then I've been thrown up on multiple times. I slept a total of 45 minutes Sunday night. Lovely.

Last night was much better. He still has a fever, and still can't keep anything down, but we all got some sleep. I just gave him a bottle (liquid diet) and he was so hungry and was crying for more, so I succumbed and gave him another 4 ounces. Shouldn't have done it. Once again, I was drenched. Let's hope this ends soon. The antibiotics seem to be working.

Monkey Boy

No, I was not trying to see how many comments I could get on my last post before I did another post, but thanks for all the congratulations. I'm excited for numero 2, but honestly lately I'm wondering how in the world I'm going to do it! I had my 16 week checkup this morning, and everything is going great. Nothing makes this momma happier then hearing the babe's heartbeat beating inside of me. (I think I'm having a girl because I feel completely different, but who knows.)

These pictures have nothing to do with this post, but thought I'd put them on here. These were taken during Christmas in Vancouver.

We are thick into the job search. Right now Tri-Cities has nothing to offer, unless you're a nurse, or a farm laborer. Other cities, aren't really much better, but we're pretty much applying anywhere right now. Neither of us want to move, but it's not looking good. Patience, patience, patience. Did you know that 2008 was the worst year for layoffs since 1945, and it's already predicted that 2009 will blow that number out of the water? Get ready folks, it could be a bumpy ride for many of us.

I came down with the flu on Sunday night, which has turned into a cold. I have been sick so much this winter, and I'm sick of it. I slept 3 hours last night. Miserable. Michael has been sick with a cold for 2.5 weeks now, but hopefully it's on its way out. It doesn't slow him down. He has learned how to climb on top of things, and his reach is getting much better (worse for me). I turned my back while doing dishes last night, and in the meantime he grabbed my favorite Crate & Barrel glass pitcher, and threw it across the kitchen. It shattered everywhere; I'm so sad. He throws everything like it's a ball.

**I've since moved this sofa back table to a different spot and put back all the decor I had on it before Michael threw it all off.

Santa Baby

Since my last post, we went to see Kyle's mom and he helped her with her "honey-to-do" list. We figured we should take advantage of the free gas while we still had it (they shut his card off yesterday...sad, sad day). We'll head back on Tuesday for a week. This month feels like a whirlwind for more then one reason.

Then my aunt watched Michael and we took my parents to Leavenworth for the day. It was fun to be up there during Christmas time because of everything that is going on, but not sure I'd go back for a while. You can only see so many trinket stores before you've seen them all. I've been to Germany before, and I'm pretty sure they don't have stores like that, but they did get it right with the building store fronts and decor. We came away with some German chocolate, which was our only expectation.

I would post some pictures but they are on my dad's cell phone. Our camera crashed and burned, so we're camera-less right now. I did borrow my sisters today so we could take a picture of Michael on Santa's lap at the mall. Our normal "I-love-strangers-more-then-my-parents child" decided that Santa was not his thing. He instantaneously burst in to tears, so our picture didn't really turn out. Plus we didn't want to pay the $24 dollars for one sheet of pictures, so they weren't giving us much time to take a picture. Hopefully at the ward party they'll have Santa and we can do retakes.

Michael is so much fun, we can hardly stand it. Seriously, he is non-stop fun. Of course I'm biased, but people tell me that all the time. We are so lucky to have such a good baby. We love him soooooo much. He's not perfect though. He tears apart my house all day long. He is in to everything, and does not stop unless he's taking a nap. Thank heavens for naps and early bed times. Lately he's been really into hugging people, and wants to hug and kiss everyone. Of course, he's still biting me any chance he gets. He loves biting us, I don't get it! Luckily he hasn't bit anyone else (so far).
