Weigh In

Guess who weighs 19 pounds 1 ounce?! I'll give you a hint, it's not me.

Some of you are thinking, "my baby weighed 19 pounds at 4 months," but for a baby with allergies (and who's extremely active) its kind of a big accomplishment.
*Three more days and counting till Kyle comes home!

Dear Daddy

Dear Daddy,
I miss you! Please come home fast so I can tear it up with you. Mommy's fun, but not as fun as you are. She makes sure to wrestle with me though, so that I don't forget how. She's putting me back on a sleeping schedule this week. No more late nights and early mornings. Mommy still gets me out of bed before she goes to sleep, so that we can cuddle since I won't cuddle when I'm awake.
Yesterday I tore all of Mommy's underwear out of her drawer in 2 seconds flat, and today I played with your shoes in the closet. Since you left, I upgraded to a bigger car seat, but I'm still facing the backseat....boring! Mommy said she misses you a lot too. We can't wait to see you Sunday night. Next time you go to North Carolina can we go with you?

Late,
Lil' Chief
*I don't know how people the military do it. It's only been 3.5 days and we're ready for Dad to be home!
**When Kyle calls (we can only talk for a couple of minutes a day because his cell service is so bad there), I put it on speaker phone and Michael freaks out with excitement. So stinking cute.

Clear your calenders

To all my peeps in Utah. I'm finally coming for an entire week, with nothing to do but go to two BYU football games. I can hardly believe it. I'm so stinking excited. Michael and I will be there September 13-20th and Kyle will be joining us on the weekends.

What I'm most excited about, is getting my hair cut by the amazing Patrick. It's been far, far too long, and he better clear his schedule for me. I'm considering making two appointments!

I need to go to sleep now and dream of a pork salad with creamy ranch.

Marriage, Mission, and Misc.

The last few weeks have been filled to the brim with family stuff, here are some highlights:

-Candace and her family arrived
-Last FHE before Big D got married, gave advice for mission and marriage
-Devin and Kendra got married, luncheon followed
-Kyle had his last day peddling oil and fuel
-Reception in 106 degree heat. It was still amazing though.
-Stake Conference
-Kyle started his new job peddling drugs
-Went up north to visit Grandma and Grandpa on their farm
-Andrew's farewell brunch
-Kyle left for a week to North Carolina for training and had to miss Andrew's talk
-Andrew's farewell
-Kept Michael entertained through 4 hours of church and put him down for his first nap of the day at 6:10 pm for 30 minutes. Oh boy, time for a schedule again.
-Said goodbye to Andrew and shed some tears--we are REALLY, REALLY going to miss him
-Mix in about 8 family dinners, a week of swimming with great weather, setting up and taking down after all of these events, and that's pretty much it.

I'm sad summer is over, I'm sad Andrew's gone, I'm sad my husband's gone, I'm sad my tan is already leaving, but all four of those things will come back, so I guess that's reason enough to be happy.

Having to say goodbye to Andrew made me want to have 10 kids, not sure the two correlate, but somehow they did this weekend. I'm already sad thinking about saying goodbye to Michael in 18 years.

Here's some pics. If we look hot, sweaty, and sticky in the wedding pictures it's because we were hot, sweaty and sticky.

Other's people's weddings always remind Kyle of our own wedding, so he gets smoochy.
Overalls and hay fields always go well together. His dad won't let me put him in jean overalls, but I thought a trip to the farm was a good reason.
These two three year old followed Great Grandpa around everywhere he went.

Can you guess what this picture is? It's my grandpa's trash compactor. Hilarious. He runs over it with his pickup.

I looked over at my mom and Andrew when I took this picture and my mom was crying. I'm sure they'll be lots more of that on Wednesday in Provo around noon. Hey Babe I don't think a bicycle helmet was meant for a dirt bike. Nice effort though.

Happy Birthday Grandma Kathy!

* This post is one day late, and I tried to do it yesterday, but it didn't work
We want to wish our favorite Grandma Kathy a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! We were supposed to go out to lunch to celebrate the occassion, but we decided to postpone until everyone is feeling better. Kathy is a longtime family friend, as well as my 4th grade teacher, former fellow employee at the library, and Michael's adopted Grandma. Kathy is the most generous person I know...hands down. She has spoiled me for years, and now that Michael is around, he gets her royal treatment. She gave us a pack n' play, jumparoo, swing, outfits, toys, and many more things, all of which have been lifesavers as a new mom. She prints off the pictures that I email to her of Michael so that me and my mom can have a copy. Today in the mail arrived a housewarming giftcard to Target...I'm telling you, she thinks of everything.

Thanks for all you do Grandma Kathy. Enjoy a few pictures of the gifts you've given to us put to use, as well as a few more. We love you!

Overload

I've had no time lately with moving, vacations, weddings, church, summer, job changes(not for me) and the Lil' Chief...and the Big Chief. I went to bed last night, and knew that I was getting sick with a cold, and sure enough I was up last night coughing and blowing my nose. There should be a law against colds in the summer. I've been sick so much since Michael was born but I can't complain because he's been sick a lot more then me. He has a cold too. This week he has projectile vomited 10 times. I'm not sure what the deal is. I thought first maybe he accidentally had some soy, but I don't think that's what it is. Tonight it was so sad. He threw up, so I ran to the kitchen sink, and he was throwing up into the sink and laughing and smiling. He doesn't have a fever, just throwing up. Not spitting up, throwing up. Three times this week I've gone into his room and he was covered from head to toe in puke.
We went to Priest Lake a day after we moved into our new place, so we had to unpack to pack, and then I came home to a disaster of a house...boxes and stuff everywhere. Then, we left again to go to Vancouver for Kyle's friends wedding. Basically, we still aren't settled, but getting there. Kyle leaves for scout camp tomorrow, then next week is wedding week for my brother Devin, and then right after that my other little brother goes on his mission. My sister will be here with her family, so I'm excited for that.

The big news around our house is Kyle was offered a job with GSK a pharmaceutical company (starts the 18th). I randomly was looking on Craigslist, and applied for the job for him. It was actually two or three months ago, and I called to tell him that he needed to be prepared in case anyone called him. He didn't think much of it, but that night they called him for an interview. He originally wanted to do Pharmaceutical sales when he started looking last November, but it didn't pan out. We've been very grateful for the job that he has had, but we are very excited about the new opportunity (and pay raise). Plus right now he doesn't get any paid time off, and with his new job he gets three weeks, plus 15 paid holidays. He had to pass a difficult test during the interview process, and still has a few more to take. He'll be doing training for three and half weeks in Raleigh, NC, but it's broken up into three different time frames between now and November 1st.

Michael is so much stinkin' fun right now, I can hardly stand it. He is always happy and laughing. I don't get it, especially with all his gastro problems. He is really starting to explore and figure things out. I thought he'd be walking by now, but he's so fast at crawling, he doesn't see the need to. He has successfully picked up every piece of lint and loose carpet (it's cheap) at our new place. His favorite part about our house is that it has a bathtub. We had to use one of those plastic tubs before, so this is a whole new world. As soon as he hears me start the water he crawls in there and starts shrieking with excitement. Another favorite past time of his is to go into our walk-in closet (first time in my life I've had one) and throw my shoes up in the air, grab my clothes and pull them off their hanger, and throw Kyle's socks in the air. I've never seen him laugh so hard in his life.
Get ready for some pictures...

This is Ariana my niece, she covets my hair, and I covet her hair. Cutest haircut on a little girl, I've ever seen. She told me she doesn't like her haircut because she can't do anything fun with it like curl it.
Here's Michael with his cousin Tainui, they are 8 weeks apart, but Michael is considerably smaller, but as his dad says, "Michael's tougher." He made Tainui cry more then once this past weekend. This was hilarious. We put him to sleep in his cousin's crib and they have netting around the crib. Well Michael wanted a blanket, so he pulled the netting through the slats and cuddled up.

Us at Bridal Veil Lakes...it was gorgeous there!

Here's Michael shrieking by the bathtub

Where are we, the rain forest? I am always amazed at how green and wet everything is.

Flexin' at Priest Lake The Fam

Michael's first tube ride....he loved it!
The guys dove for golf balls all week long
Campfire with the neighbors
Warriors in training. Dad, you have a LONG way to go. Nice effort though.
51 and he's still got it!
Priest Lake means, no make-up, and no hair products for me.
